yes, this thread might be more for the mall crawlers so please don’t leave negative comments if this isn’t for you…

my girls would like me to put some christmas lights on the aux switches. i’m guessing i could hook this up to an inverter but are there 12volt christmas lights i could purchase? i looked on amazon and it looked as if there were 9 volt battery powered lights that I could just strip the ends off of and hook up to the aux switches but would that be compatible? i know about the outlet behind the console - i’m more interested in use of the aux switches. thanks for any assistance!

It's not a mall crawler thing, all though a lot of them do it. I wheel in my Jeep very regularly and have a light up wreath on the spare tire.

Yeah, it's far from a mall crawler thing. I've seen more than one Jeep off road with Christmas lights on it.

As for how to wire them to an aux switch. The easiest way is to buy a aux outlet (cigarette lighter outlet) and wire it to a switch. Then you can plug whatever you want into that outlet based on the season, including lights in December.

There are many ways to do it. 12v light strands are available that can be directly wired to Aux leads (must be 12v, 6v will get blown out). A possibly easier route would be to strategically add USB outlets, put them on an aux switch and use USB powered lights. That could also be convenient in other ways.

As for the mall crawler thing, that's not a thing. I assure you these aren't mall crawlers. Just happened to come across them today in their full glory.

So yes, the Jeep community allows and encourages Christmas decorations. :like:
Police on the other hand can be scrooges about it. ?‍♂

I just run an extension to the wall plug. But I’m guessing not all Jeeps have it?
