Center console lid keylock removal?

Anybody know how to get access to change out the key lock mechanism and pull it out? Is there a secret to prying apart the top and bottom? (I swapped out the cheap lid for a leather lid and want to put the original key lock into the new lid.)

IF you do this deed.... this is especially important...
Depress the cylinder tab that is exposed on the underside, and continue to rotate the lock cylinder with the key.

Yes and no, it doesn’t pop off, instead the entire top is held on by 4 screws, I removed that and replaced the lid. The lock stays with the hinged part of the console. Easy swap.
