Well I’m a bit of an idiot.

So, I called cargo dog and they said that I should have gotten an adapter with it the kit. Sure enough, I did

This part was surprising… he said the USB in the center console is a 12V USB and is the second strongest power source in the Jeep. Said I’ll be fine to charge phones and GoPro or whatever from the Cargo Dog without issues.

I’ll let y’all know how it goes when I get the jeep back in a month or so!

I wondered if there was something I didn’t understand why you didn’t want to use the adapter. I mean hard wired up where you don’t see it would be nice but the provided adapter is pretty easy.

Time to revive this thread... I just bought a used Cargo Dog on FB Marketplace.
The used unit did not include the USB to cigarette lighter adapter.
Anybody got a link to a product I can buy to do the trick?

I would recommend hard wiring it in. The center console plug is not always that reliable and if you start charging/plugging a lot of stuff in none of it will charge fast if teh center console is providing all the power.
