First time on the forum. Our family has 3 jeeps, a 4xe and 2 saharas one with the 2.0. (2019 w/55k) That's the one that is being problematic. It had thy symptoms of a can bus issue. Dashboard lighting up,wipers turning g themselves on, Trans not wanting to shift etc. I replaced the can bus (green one) with o e I ordered off Amazon. I made sure to replace the connectors in the same order. When done the Sahara suddenly became a Rubicon as it put the red Rubicon letters on there at power on. It would not crank. It started 3 times in an hour of trying. And when it did start it wouldn't shift from park. I reinstalled the factory bus and it starts and shifts into gear fine. For now. Question is could I have been sent a counterfeit can bus? I ask because our tow vehicle is a ram 3500 and there has been several instances of counterfeit Mopar fuel filters causing issues so I order from genes now. OR could the battery be the issue even if it seems OK and cranks well. It is the factory battery and I assume if I change it I'll need to change the aux battery as well however our sons battery died and didn't have these issues, but I read a low voltage situation can cause it and new battery has been known to fix similar issues with other posters before. Any thoughts and comments appreciated!

There are others with more experience on this Can issue. However, a '19 with factory batteries is due for replacement. (and Aux bypass) Check the "seller" on Amazon. Likely a "never heard of them" Chinese vender with unknown providence.

It's my daughters jeep and she just reviewed and the seller has no rating. Interesting. Wonder if autozone sells them. At any rate batteries need swapped regardless. She travels with it about 5 hours away a few times a month and I want it reliable. I appreciate the response!

My 2019 is on it’s original batteries, as it’s parked a lot (we also have three JL’s) I think the Auxiliary battery has had it’s life so I removed fuse 42 and disconnected it’s ground cable.
As a precaution, I did the same on my daily driver 2018.

Replacing the main battery as a preemptive strike is still worth considering but I’d recommend getting the existing one tested, if nothing else you can rule it in/out of your troubleshooting process.

A canbus is something I’d only consider getting from a dealer or genuine Mopar parts place online. At least you know what you’re getting.

OK so is the can bus the same part number for similar model year jeeps? For instance the v6 is the same as the 2.0t or Rubicon is same as Sahara etc. Just checking. Thanks!

Good question.
‘Perhaps @Benny from the Mopar parts online place can answer that.

Random windshield wiper activation is a telltale sign of low voltage caused by a bad battery.

2019 2.0Ls are eTorque, so don't have an AUX (ESS) battery.

Replace the CR[an]K (i.e. main) battery.

So No Auxiliary battery on this one huh? O.k, decision Made, I'm going to go for a Battery replacement first, since the age of the OEM battery / mileage warrants it anyway. if it continues to act up, then I will order an OEM CAN BUS from my mopar parts online or my local dealer here. I need to get this problem solved so I can diagnose which wheel speed sensor is acting up, but thats a different issue. One thing at a time! Sure appreciate the recommendations folks, thank you.

Just went through this couple weeks ago all the lights in the dash , steering was out , just about everything that could fail showing in the cluster was out and illuminated. Mine is a stick but I hear the automatics won’t shift out of part. I got mine from a Jeep dealer
My main battery has been replaced my aux battery is original I have a 2019 but never use the auto start stop at all

I replaced the cam bus connector behind the I’ve box and has been fine for 3 weeks now

I really think the can bus I got sent was counterfeit, it made the system worse. So its my Daughters Jeep, I think Im gonna go all out, Ill replace the can bus and the main battery and go from there.. the one we ordered off Amazon turned it into a rubicon, who knew you could get a rubicon with a 68 dollar amazon order..L

Update, Our local dealer actually had one in Stock, which amazed me. Figured id be on a 10 day waiting period. (also had an ECH in stock for our 4XE as well which REALLLLY amazed me!)
At Any rate, I installed the new Bus last night, it started with no issues, still has a check engine light But i know its having wheel speed sensor errors as well. it drove, shifted and start / stopped correctly. everything works. Still gonna swap in a new battery as well for her.

I hope you left a review on Amazon, letting others know that the part is junk….

Most certainly.. I dont fool around with that stuff after the issue with the fuel filters for Cummins coming from Amazon. Should not have even messed with it from there.

Oh and Check engine light is off !
