When ordering a Sahara last week I chose all the safety options, including the one which Includes LED tail lights. Thus, it seemed awfully stiff to purchase the $1,500 LED lighting package for just the front of the Jeep. So I skipped it.
If I were to swap the headlights for LED after delivery, is this a complicated endeavor regarding wiring and programming, or is it simply plug and play?

Are you wanting the FacTory LEDs? If not, I have the oracle oculus BI LED with the heated element and love the output. They are very straight forward and easy to install.

I am not familiar with the process of installing the Factory Leds but i know its been discussed extensively in the forum.

Factory can be swapped in, but they run $500–$900 and you have to program the vehicle for the LED’s via JScan or a Tazer. If only takes about 10 minutes to swap the lights, plus 10 or so minutes to program.

Can a dealer do that for me?

you might want to look into just a led bulbs swap. supernova v4 or beamtech are the 2 best ones. i have the supernova v4 led bulbs for the head and fog lights from headlight revolution. they are easy to install and they are plug n play. the headlight bulbs fits nicely in the headlight housing with the dust covers on. i have them since june 2019 and had no issues with them. they light up the road nicely.

Or if going to Raves and attention-seeking behavior is your kind of thing (no shame), get yourself a nice pair of replacement headlights with RGB halos. Some of them can be really nice quality with crisp cutoff lines.

I would stay away from LED bulbs in the halogen housings. It’ll be brighter, but could blind oncoming drivers.

Oracle oculus are widely used, and are great. They’ve been in my jeep for almost a year and a half, no issues. There are others as well, though. There are some that even look like factory, such as skyline, overtread or DV8 (I think theyre all the same). Most of the aftermarket ones include resistors and don’t require a flash.

The factory ones are the best, but are expensive second hand and you’ll have to pay the dealer around $125 for the computer flash. You’ll also probably want to swap out the fender lights. I’ve been running the quake sequential LEDs and they have worked great. Again, you can get factory take offs if you prefer. Those are usually easier to come by as many people swap out their fenders.

I personally would go with the factory LED lights if you can. In my opinion they are the best.

Do you have to have the led lights plugged in first before reprogramming. Or reprogram then plug the new LED lights in?

I swapped out the factory halogen bulbs with Lasfit LED's, they're plug & play, I dialed them down, no errors, no codes, no flickering, passed State inspection, they've been fine ever since.

There's a wide variety of aftermarket LED Lights to choose from. I found this to be a very easy & inexpensive upgrade. I think they were around $55 dollars last summer.

Good lucky buddy.
