I think I will go with this product. Like that is has solid wood panels to extend the backseat for the pup to lay on.

My seat covers are a 50/50 blend - 50% chocolate lab hair, 50% great dane hair.
I cannot confirm but I'm pretty sure the carpet in the JL's was originally designed as some kind of Velcro for German Shepherds 😅

I have one that is very similar to this. I just throw a few blankets on top of it if we're going on a longer trip. Works great. We mainly use it in a Grand Cherokee but it fits the Wrangler too.

I've bought about a half dozen seat covers for dogs. Cheap ones and ones that weren't cheap.

I've found that the buckle/clasp is the weak point, even the expensive ones.
My dogs aren't that heavy, 42 lbs and 55 lbs.
If they go in the cargo, I just use a cheap blanket, but mostly in the rear seats, so they get AC in their face.

We picked up a rear seat hammock cover from 4 Kines for my wife's Durango. Well made, kept spills off everything and easy to clean. We ended up folding the 2nd row captain seats down later on and I cut a board and covered it with a Harbor Freight moving blankets. This gives our dog more room to move and a little extra cargo room, on a road trip. With the JLU, we just travel with the 2nd row seats down and use a couple of those moving blankets. I'd like to swap the carpet over to Armorlite soon. Those Doorskins look great and I'm probably going to get a set. Good tip on the friction tape for the window sills. Our dog tried to hand a little too hard one day a few years ago, and out the window he tumbled at a little under 20mph.

Looking to do some long road trips with my dog (Lab mutt) in a JLU and want to keep the rear seats up. Can anyone recommend a good dog seat cover and rear seat filler to expand the area he can lay on?
Krugo dog hammock on Amazon worked great for me.
