Hello everyone!
The 36 months is coming to an end on my 2018 loaded Unlimited Rubicon. I do love the car and want to keep it forever.
(I wish bought it instead of leasing 3 years ago. Alas...)

Of course - I've done all the mods, gone on all the off-roads, scraped and dented it up :)

I have ~29,000 miles and owe a lot of $$$ to finally pay it off from Chrysler Capital and own it.

I've used the warranty pretty well:
  1. Replaced the rear axle - the infamous stuck locker sensor
  2. Replaced a gas tank (something something busted valve)
  3. Fixed the rear window defroster
  4. got an updated steering stabilizer
  5. updated the Uconnect firmware
The warranty ends at 30,000 miles and when the lease is up.
I'm located in Southern California.

My question is -
Do any of you have advice on buying out this lease? I want this to be as painless as possible.
Should I get an extended warranty? Seems like this car will have plenty more issues in the future.

I do plan on just paying in cash and being done with it.

Please let me know if any of you have advice! this will be the first car that I bought out of a lease.
Thanks!

Ask yourself this question before considering buying out the lease:

If you say the vehicle will "have plenty more issues in the future", do you want to deal with that?

If feasible, why not consider turning the vehicle in and looking to lease or finance a new one?

What’s your residual + sales tax vs market value (trade and private party)? If the former is lower than the latter, buy it and sell it. If not, turn it in. You can use Carvana to get a real-time number for market value in 60 seconds. That number changes daily so use it as a tool.

I don’t see a good reason to keep it in any scenario. You’d only be buying it or trading it to make a few bucks.
