Buying Below MSRP

Okay so I’ve called a lot of dealers here in CA and no one want to offer anything below MSRP or they want me to lease which I do not want to do that that includes Tuttle click in Irvine. I called Gupton still no call back. Lastly I called Jim Butler in MO they said I can get 7% off invoice that’s with the affiliate code of thread lightly included. But if I want to go through my own finance that + 1,000 additional to total cost. So roughly if I include shipping from outside shipping company I end up about 4% of MSRP. I just don’t really know what exactly the process would be for getting a car out of state and to get registered and pass state emissions here in CA.

Did you call Rob directly or just the tuttle-click dealership?
Our order with Rob had no issue and everything Rob mentioned was exactly same as in the post.(Car still in production but so far the communication are pretty good) Not sure how you got different information unless you called someone else instead of the contact in the spreadsheet. He's doing 3%(+1% with FCA Affiliate) which should be about 6% under MSRP.

Second vote for @12psi . Yes you have to use his financing for 6 months, but you will still come out way ahead

I'm actually about to order from Jim Butler today, just waiting on the link for the deposit, but I'm less than 100 miles from them. I did run into at least one dealer nearby that was all about "MSRP, hard to find, high demand, not going to be in a feeding frenzy with other dealers." Sorry, if they think everyone is a sucker I can take my business elsewhere and glad I did. Most of the other dealers around here were around that invoice price with the FCA discount.

Steve has been absolutely wonderful to work with but understand with you being in California, a lot of those concerns are valid. Still might want to double-check those numbers with Steve. He gave me the "cash price" and mentioned the extra 1k if I financed through them as an extra incentive.

Hello, so Im having a 2024 Sahara 4xe being built right now. I’m curious if anyone who is getting a wrangler built is trying to negotiate to pay below MSRP? If so how much?

I ordered last year through Kent from Peterson CDJR in Nampa, ID. I saved around 7% off invoice (the equivalent of 11-12% MSRP or about $6K). Mine was 59,970 MSRP and got it for around 52.7k.

Okay thanks everyone! I was able to speak to Rob from Tuttle Click! And was able to get 4% off the invoice! So I decided to splurge and get the rubicon x instead! The price I was gonna get for the Sahara is what I will be paying for the Rubicon! And the dealership is roughly 3 hours from me so I can pick it up myself! Plus I canceled my previous Jeep order and will get my deposit reimbursed.

I walked away from my rubicon x order at a dealer in San Antonio and went with Mark Dodge in lake Charles. $7000 off msrp. $4000 below invoice. The sales guy at the local dealer actually told me about how good Mark Dodge was. And this forum. Shop around.

The link provided earlier is a great source of information. Remember, depending on the dealer, there may be a bunch of made-up fees, like “doc fees”, ”flooring assessments”, “dealer prep”, “undercoating”, ”glass etching”, ”theft tracking”, or other BS charges added to the price after the fact. You need to make sure you clarify the total out-the-door price. Collectively, these additional fees and required dealer financing can amount to 4% of MSRP or more.

Cold-calling local dealers never produces a competitive, bottom dollar deal. Ever. A cold phone call is one step below a tire-kicker. You’ll get the advertised price and an invitation to c’mon down for a test drive. The best of the sponsoring dealers on this forum are hard to beat.
