My new JLU diesel being delivered today. Plan on moderate wheeling (Rubicon yes, Fordyce no... lol) & towing 3500lb trailer to site. Anybody fit 35 spare on rear without the bumper based swing arm? Looking to limit weight as much as possible. Also looking for front bumper/winch combination that doesn't restrict airflow "much" - I understand cooling is an issue.

I've wheeled 2003 Rubi for 18 years now (kept it) & not sure how I'll be able to fit the BIG girl thru trails, but looking forward to trying!!!

LOD Signature Series Front Bumpers, three widths Shorty Mid and Full. The winch will sit low in the bumper and won't block air flow for cooling.
Many others sell similar set ups but I like the LOD because it is rated for Flat Tow.

I second the LoD Signature front bumper. I went with the shorty.

As far as tire carrier, I went with a bumper mounted swingarm. You can go with the Terraflex Alpha for th 35's. I hear good stuff about it. I am on 37's so that wasn't a good option for me. I was considering the Rusty's 4X4 tire carrier before settling on what I knew and have used (swingarm mount).

THX - figured I would need to go bigger than the 8K in the TJ. LOL

Another question - note NO ROOM in engine compartment, are most using some form of "suitcase" air compressor? Currently running Kilby system on old jeep & would really miss the speed, convenience (& possibility to run power tools)

Many different options for air, ARB has a couple suitcase setups and they range from around $350 to $800. There are many treads on this forum about compressors, you might want to search those for better information
