Built Sheet Bumper Designation..

Hello everyone.
I have a question about the built sheet and for the drivers who ordered their Jeep Wrangler with the Mopar steel bumper.
What does your built sheet say about it? My 3.6 Rubicon Xtreme originally came to the dealer with a plastic bumper, and the built sheet says Bumper Module I.
But I bought and installed the Mopar steel bumper myself.
Background to the question: In Germany, you have to register the steel bumper with an organization for the vehicle. But since mine comes from the USA and the 3.6 was also delivered with the steel bumper, I could save myself the trouble if Bumper Module I could also mean that the steel bumper was already installed from the start.

How would they know? You put an OEM bumper on there. Just tell them that it came equipped that way. You haven't modified it, only swapped one factory offering for another.

I'm glad to not live in a place where nearly every aspect of your life is managed and approved, or disapproved, by the government. However, I'm aware that Germany has taken vehicle inspection very seriously for decades. Did you like things better before or after the formation of the EU?

I'm only familiar with the fact that every accessory part has to be approved. But in general, it's gotten worse in recent years. For example, if you retrofit an LED bulb in your turn signal when a halogen bulb was previously installed, the vehicle could be immobilized during an inspection because your operating license has expired No joke. So you have to be very careful. And I want to be 100% safe. My advantage is that vehicles for the EU have completely different bumpers, and it's quite clear that they're made of plastic. With my import, I have the advantage that it can be either way. Steel bumpers are generally not permitted without pedestrian impact protection and approval from a TÜV organization So, it's not that easy to build a nice car here. Even the original Mopar bumper has to be registered with a certificate on the Jeep if you want to drive it legally.

Sorry, but Bumper Module I shows up on both my 2020 JLUR that had steel bumpers and my 2022 JLURD that originally came with plastic bumpers (upgraded at AEV). The 2020 also lists Steel Bumper Group, Steel Front Bumper, and Steel Rear Bumper.

Weird, I would have assumed steel bumpers offer way more protection when impacting a pedestrian than a plastic one...

That EU plastic bumper is really ugly.

Module may mean the wiring and lights installed on the bumper, not necessarily the bumper itself.

The other solution is to store your plastic bumper, then install it for one day a year when you got to get it inspected. You would only need two nuts to hold it in place, unless they inspect that thoroughly.

Mine build sheet says that I have a Molded Front Bumper, without stipulating the material it's made out of (mine was plastic) then further down it says I have Bumper Module I. The build sheet does stipulate that the rear bumper as Blow Molded Rear Bumper, again, no material stipulated.

Yes,but under "Optional Equippment" ist the Steel Bumper Group listet...

In my Built Sheet not ..thats the Point.
