Hey everyone. I am installing the Mopar Auxillary Switches and just when I think I have it almost finished I go to wire the connector that plugs into the aux switches and notice this. I have no idea how the entire connector got cut off. Could have been in struggling to get it through to the interior from the inner fender wall, I guess.

Any advice on how this can be repaired or if it can order just one of these connectors? I would hate to rip out the entire thing and do it all over.

That terminal is broken, not sure if it is a male or female (pin or socket). Probably a pin, TE Connectivity 1.2, would need to see the face of the connector to be sure. Not too hard to replace but would need to remove the broken piece from the connector.

@Gregj below is a picture. Where do you get a new pin at? Do you happen to have a part number ?

I did the same thing. Bought replacements at Mouser https://www.mouser.ca/ProductDetail/538-33012-2002-LP

Molex 33012-2002 is the part number

EDIT: I believe that it was the same connector. I know I broke a female pin installing in the passenger foot well. I think it was on the same plug but don't remember

Thanks! Can’t imagine how long this took to find. What’s the install like? Cut a clean section and insert on ?

IIRC I broke the broke and purple wire while trying to remove it. Maybe I put it in the wrong slot. But I had also bought a spare plug that I never used: https://www.mouser.ca/ProductDetail/829-15532124

I searched for a few hours through Mouser's catalogue but it turns out I wasn't the first. Another person on this forum actually found the Molex #, it just took a while to find their post.

You'll need a crimper tool to crimp down on the connector over the wire or be really careful with pliers. They are so cheap I bought 50. Gives you lots of practice.

Amazon sells both the Molex pins and the crimp tool.

Since that "pin" (looks like a socket to me) has a proprietary crimp tool, I just use a tiny soldering iron to solder them, then crimp best I can. That assures the connection is made and helps retain it better.

@Gregj was nice enough to mail me a wire with a pin crimped on. With his help, I was able to fix the issue. Stellantis made installation of this about as difficult as it gets. Looking back, I probably would have just gone with an aftermarket one that has a much easier install. Anyone considering buying or ordering a new JL should pay for the tow package to get this option. It saves a lot of time and frustration.

If I attempt this, are there any cool tricks, "wish I had known", etc.?
