So this happened today- I was driving about 35 in town and the cover piece of my passenger hood vent just lifted up from the front... and off it flew. It didn't sustain much damage and I was able to easily retrieve it. Has anyone had this issue before? It looks like the adhesive just failed. I can't see any snaps or clipping function to it and nothing like tabs seem to be broken off? I am just going to gorilla glue it back on...

Two or so years ago, another forum member posted he had this happen with his Rubi.

Replacements in different textures and colors can be found for cheap on eBAY. Also, OEM is available too.

Totally off topic (sorry) but could you post a picture of your hood decal? It is just the solid red stripe on black, and is it off center or is my eye deceiving me?

I’m intrigued by what I’m able to see.

All the factory vents I've removed to cut and make actual operational vents were held in by clips that were molded into the outter edge of the housing on the vents. Yours is the first I've seen with out them.

I will find a pic or just take one. My hood decal is not a decal- it is plasti-dipped by me. Black plasti-dip on the bottom and bright red down the center. And the off-centeredness of the red stripe is an illusion resulting from the curvature of the hood and distortion from the camera- in reality it is dead center.

Mine is a March 2018 build, so definitely may have made some improvements along the way...

From what happened, I guess it wasn’t much of an improvement.?
