I did it. I removed the trim and inner skin. There is a nut plate that is behind. It got bent when I was trying to remove the broken bolt with a bolt extractor that's how it "fell"

I bent it back and bolted it on. Yippie!!

Our's was the same idea, although when taking the hinge bolt out, the nut let go. It was put in messed up from the factory, and not welded correctly Removed the panels from the door and had to replace the nut on the dogbone that had come undone. All better

Most likely you got it cross threaded and did not realize and applied too much torque and broke the tab nut off.

Son did the same thing with a power impact and not ensuring to hand thread all bolts at least 4 or 5 turns before putting the power to it....
