What did you think? I got these for ~$65-70 and it's good, but not worth the hype and the inflated prices places have been wanting for it. For the money and the ease of getting it, Maker's Mark Cask Strength wins every time for me. The Green River Cask Strength is a pretty solid wheater too.
I liked it. Again, not my favorite but I like lower alcohol content, and I like Rye's (I know weird as most snobs don't). It will sit in the cabinet for others for sure to enjoy. For the same price I can get McKenna 10yr which I like 1000 times more.

A friend gave me what was left of this Taylor bottle (left after a Poker game). This is good stuff! I will have to buy some more after I finish it.

The Canadian Club in the background was a gift from a relative. It's over 50 years old and also very tasty!

I will bite.

First of all, it is whiskey NOT bourbon. While it has all the legal requirements it goes through an extra charcoal filtration step and is actually classified technically as a Tennessee Whiskey. Secondly if you think JD is the best you either have never had the chance to try good bourbon or you just don't like bourbon because JD would not even be in my top 50.

How many in your top 50 are made in contract distilleries from the same base alcohol as any other? At least we know where JD is made and by whom. Shame they closed the cooperage though.

Nope, it's bourbon. Like you said all the legal requirements, it just goes through the Lincoln County process, so it's Tennessee Whiskey, but also Bourbon. You see, you can call ORVW bourbon and you can call Jack Daniel's bourbon, but you sure can't call ORVW Tennessee Whiskey.

I have about 400 bottles currently with about 100 or so open to drink and for people to try and if you don't know that Jack Daniel's makes some of the best whiskey in the world YOU haven't had good whiskey.

You may want to let JD know that. Because they are very clear in all aspects of their company and branding that they are whiskey. You enjoy your 100 open bottles. You are cool. Enjoy yours and I will enjoy mine and it ain’t JD.

JD is a good mixer. Overhyped, though.

Jack Daniel's is far more than Old No. 7. If you're a whiskey lover/sipper and you like high proof whiskey Jack Daniel's Single Barrel Barrel Proof(SBBP) is BTAC level whiskey always on shelves for about $80. If you don't like higher proof, Single Barrel Select are also fantastic at $50 and some of the barrel picks are outstanding. If you're lucky enough to find the 10, 12, 14 year for a reasonable price they are some of the best on the planet as are their annual special releases. If you have a local store that does a lot of barrel picks and has a SBBP or Single Barrel Select they probably offer sample, you should try them.

EH Taylor is good stuff. I'm fortunate enough to be able to get it for about $50 at a local Counties monthly drop if I'm willing to get up early and wait in line. No chance I the $100-$150 stores want for it locally.
