Picked up a new one today. Heritage Distilling BSB 103 It's interesting... Not bad, but different. I like sweeter liquors normally. So I figured I'd give it a try. BSB stands for Brown Sugar Bourbon. It's definitely got that brown sugar flavor. Tastes like it's infused with molasses and ginger. Won't replace my standards, but it was fun for a try and less than 30 bucks.

Evan Williams single batch for daily (or Pendleton 1910), Eagles Rare 17 for the shelf. But lately, Balhvenie 17.

Had a Pappy 20 before the prices got silly - downtown state liquor store had it on sale for $100 and it had sat for months because all their customers were local homeless who never paid more then $10 for a bottle of anything . I think that same bottle is now over $1000.

It was...ok. Not nearly as smooth as the Eagles rare which sold for $60 back then.

So there’s a new liquor store nearby that just opened a couple of months ago. They have several distillers that they’ve been able to get special edition custom labeled batches from, Maker’s, Whistlepig, Woodford, and a few others. Nothing that really peaked my interest.

I went in today to check for Blanton’s (nope) and they are having a charity raffle for 3 bottles of Pappy. $50 gets you 3 chances, 1000 tickets sold, benefits American Cancer Society. How could I not? Hopefully I’ll have something really good to post in November.

What’s your favorite daily?

Whats your best shelf bottle?

I'm a simple man. Although I don't drink like I did when I was younger, when I do drink, I like my JD straight-up. I like the Gentleman Jack and the single barrel. I've been a member of the Tennessee Squires for 30+ years. I also like a nice, high-end tequila every once in awhile.

It changes every time I buy a bottle. My two mainstays are Jack Daniels Gentleman Jack and Crown Royal. If I could afford it Jack Daniels Sinatra is really good but at $150 a bottle...........
I haven't yet tried the JD Sinatra. How is it?

Just tried buffalo trace a while ago it's great and for the price I'll buy it all the time(easy second favorite). Bulleit rye is good. Burning chair and lip service are great, also like Russell's reserve 10 year. However my favorite drink is not bourbon, its Jameson stout edition.

Daily is definitely just a rotation of whatever I am feeling. Found a couple really good Old Fashioned selections though one being Johnny Drumm. Special drinking on occasion would be Blantons but even here in Bourbon country tough to get. Never had Pappy but I am sure I will love it.

I was filming a spot and used another client’s home Friday. He had a bottle of Blantons on his 15x6’ kitchen island, another bottle on the pool bar in the “basement” and yet another one in the living room.

I guess I should have been more specific. Impossible to get here at MSRP. You can get it from some of the liquor stores I do not frequent for $100+ a bottle. If they don’t sell at MSRP I walk. I have a pretty good local shop now that he will probably hold me one maybe but he hasn’t got one bottle in 3 months. We were told by someone very close to Buffalo Trace employee that next year things should loosen up over there. The bourbon craze took off and most distilleries were not ready for it.

Picked up a bottle each of 1792 Full Proof and Booker’s “Granny’s Batch”. Haven’t opened the Bookers’s. The 1792 is alright, not special. Being bottled at 125 proof it has a lot of bold flavors fighting inside your mouth. After half a bottle I can’t decide if that’s good or bad. Guess I’ll have to keep drinking until I can make a determination.

I've had some whiskeys like that myself. Recently I bought a Las Vegas Golden Knights whisky and it's not bad, but it's not really good either.
