Hello, so I’ve only found limited info and on mostly 3.6’s but nothing on the 2.0 if it’s possible to add a block heater, how and how much. Also it seems that earlier years it was included with the cold weather group but that doesn’t seem to be the case on the 2021 models? I have one on order and trying to get more details. Thanks for any input.

I included a block heater in my 2021 JLUS 2.0L order. A la carte, $95.00. Done.

Yeah I was on the fence and opted not to but now trying to see what my options are now or if anyone is getting it with the cold weather package? VIN already assigned and was told couldn’t modify order at that point.

Having lived in Florida, I'd guess block heaters might not be needed in Key Largo? ;)

By way of example, I can order and install individual block heater kits for the Hondas presently in my garage. Perhaps that's also possible for the JL? Might be worthy of investigation.

so I was told the block heaters are already installed, you're paying for them to install and route the harness and plug. is that the case? or do you actually have to replace a freeze plug?

That is exactly what I would like to know. If it’s already there and I can just do it myself or the whole harness needs to be ordered?

The engine block heater, ironically, is not part of the cold weather package. It is a stand alone option that cost $95 MSRP or $86 Dlr invoice.

I ordered the engine block heater. I am getting both the cold weather package and the block heater. If you did not order the block heater, it can be added after delivery.

No, the heater is not installed if it was not ordered. The block heater is totally separate from the vehicle's electrical system. The cord plugs into the heater and the other end plugs into a 110v ac extension cord. The 110v ac power cord plug is on the left side of the engine compartment.

Okay I found that but thought it was wrong since it was $95 when building but $357 to order, I thought I had the wrong one. Holy cow!

FCA dealer parts/accessory price has nothing to do with the factory option price. Sometimes they do not even use the same supplier. You can find this part online for less. In general, it is always better to order the vehicle with the options you want. In addition to the $357, you have labor and some antifreeze cost so you have a $500 engine block heater vs. $95 for the option.

Thank you for the clarification! This is our first Jeep and was ordered last month. It seems to be the old saying: if I knew then what I know now....
Wish I would have just ticked that item as well if I knew it was such a big dollar difference. Nonetheless we will still be happy with our Jeep. Still learning while she is being built. Thanks again!
