On the hunt for blackout window covers to add some privacy when camping. I had previously cut Reflectix and used that, but they are pretty bulky when not in use. Has anyone come up with other options?

Try cutting them from clean cardboard. Just get some new boxes, make a template and cut them out. Super cheap. The windshield holds with the visors. For the doors. Use duct tape doubled on itself to make a couple of straps that you can close the windows on. The same for the back glass. The sides hold themselves by the rollbar.

I'd be inclined to configure a DIY solution, as the prior post suggests.

I'd probably want something a bit different than cardboard, though. Perhaps select a fabric pattern and color of your choice from the bolts on display at the dry goods store, apply removable 3M Command hooks at the appropriate points in the vehicle, and hang the now cut-to-size fabric covers thereon.

The advantage of such a solution is that the fabric panels are washable, and would pack down to almost nothing in comparison to the admittedly less expensive (but also less permanent) cardboard cut-outs.

Not a cheap option, but a totally custom fit one would be custom made sunbrella or canvas. Any marine upholstery shop can fit custom patterns and sow in suction cups. They are every where in the southeast coast on houseboats and yachts. That would be completely packable.

Another cheaper diy solution would involve some small magnets and hand cut black cloth. Cut the cloth to fit. Stick the magnets on the outside with light duty two sided tape. Hang the curtains on the inside with the opposite magnet. You would be reliant on others around you respecting your privacy and not popping the outside magnets off.
