While I think I understand tires, sometimes I get in a situation where I can’t make sense of the information I get.

Any tire expert here can tell me the difference between those 2 sizes K02:

LT315/70r17 113/110 T
LT315/70r17 113/110 S

I know the T is a higher speed rating than an S, but only by a few mph.

Why is the T 1 lbs lighter and cheaper than the S

Why would BFG bother making 2 different models for a few mph difference.

on tire rack, they rate the S as Jeep specific and the T as Ford performance specific….

Is There any physical difference. BFG say they are identical. Then why one lighter and cheaper ????

Anyone has a clue cause no clear answers found.

thanks.

I didnt look bur do they have different load ratings? One a C and one a D? The higher load ratings have a stiffer sidewall and a harsher ride.

Ford Raptor sized tire. Maybe the truck goes faster and needs a higher speed rating.

I picked up a take off set of the Ford Raptor ones from Kijiji. I'm using them for winter driving, no issues.

Do they ride as smooth as a normal C load and do they look different as far as you know ?

They ride just fine, I wouldn't be concerned about it. Plus you have extra sidewall to soak up bumps. I'm running them at 34psi. If you're in Montreal they will be great for hitting potholes and driving over the fallen concrete chunks from the overpasses. ;)

I have E load rated BFG KO2's on my F150 and they are significantly stiffer. It's actually nice to put the studded winter tires on the truck as it rides a lot better.

Thanks for the review. I am in Gatineau Qc. And here’s my license plate….. roads probably similar to Montreal.

Ford commissioned the higher speed rating 315... don't specifically know if there is any real difference in the ply layers. They both measure and weigh the same. Check the sidewall of the Ford/T one... maybe they changed the branding like they did on the Goodyear 315s.

Ah, you may have a point, but FYI, the T rated is 1 pound lighter than the S rated one. And they are like $40 each cheaper than the S one too.

Nice, I moved out west 1.5 years ago from Ottawa (Kanata). I bought my truck at Mont Bleu Ford on your side of the river.
