Beware the non-Warranty!

[2019 Wrangler]

Started complaining about a loud "clank" my 2019 Wrangler Unlimited Rubicon made when cold started and placed into reverse. You can hear the clank a few houses away. Started complaining at the 2 year mark. Told the dealer the "write it down" because they kept telling me there was nothing wrong with it, its a "normal" sound. I've never been off road. Have never been out of 2H. Year 6 now and they tell me I need a new tranny and its out of warranty! My secondary warranty company told me they denied the claim because my tires were too big! Huntington NY Jeep.

Ask them where it says tires size because the dealer put my 35's on and they come with 35's.

Also, I've heard that it is not good to never use the 4wd system. Supposedly you need to engage it every few months to make sure everything works and that keeps fluids and seals happy.

Pretty sure that varies per 4wd system, but it made sense. I don't have that problem since I actually use my Jeep as a Jeep.

the dealership i bought my last one from said you could put a 2.5 lift and two sizes bigger on tires which essentially would mean 37's for a rubicon...now in reality Jeep could probably deny you for running 3psi to much in stock tires....joking of course but I would not trust a dealership when it comes to what they say vs what they will do when it comes to warranty.

From what I just experienced with the warranty people, it is pretty much a total crapshoot to get anything covered.

Evidently there is a maximum diameter of the tire and mine were over by an inch

Aftermarket warranties generally have a policy line stipulating within 10% of factory height or coverage is denied. They have an additional cost if the vehicle is lifted and has oversized tires. Read the policy you buy, or better, dont buy it.

FWIW - I had an intermittent issue with my 89 Bronco, “cannot duplicate”. After the warranty expired they magically found it and charged me for the repair. I showed them the previous WO’s It was reported during the warranty period, covered NC. Do you have copies ?

I am asking the OP how big is tires were. I figure it was a simple question but I guess it is more complicated...I am glad I am never got none too smart as makes my life easier...i mean an inch too big really tells me exactly nothing lol....
