Bestop Trektop NX Cable replacement

Has anyone had to replace the tension cables in their Trektop and have any tips/tricks? My eyelet snapped and I got new ones from bestop. Although the instructions are good and they look pretty simple, which as most of know with most Jeep things is slightly suspect….lol

This is an easy task just connect the new cable to the old, cover the hook with tape to prevent it from slipping off and pull through.

so i went to their website and talked to two people. both gave me a part number for a replacement cable but then said i couldn't buy one. i have to buy an entire rail and cable kit for $174. has anyone had any luck getting just a cable. $174 just to buy rails that aren't needed is f'ing stupid

Unfortunately I had to do the same thing just for the cable. I now have two extra rails for a $10 cable. They wouldn’t give me just the part number for the cables.

Well i have a few guys local that were thinking about getting the same top. I will let them know. Bestop will lose way more than what it would have cost them to support their customers.

Bestop has since sent me a private message stating they do indeed have cable kits for replacements. That was a week ago though and have since gone silent. They have now told me over the phone and in writing that they can replace the cables but have failed to actually do anything.

Just an update. Bestop's marketing team has contacted me through this forum and has since straightened out the part number so that it can be ordered over the phone. Due to the hassle they also created a separate part number to include both replacement cables and are sending it out. Above and beyond what I was expecting and my top is not under warranty. This is more on par with everything I have heard about Bestop. Above and beyond, thank you much.
