Just coming back from Maui and noticed a very strange trend. Almost every Wrangler had a bent antenna. Anyone know why?

Sorry didn't take any pictures.

I’m on the Big Island right now and haven’t noticed anything like that. Maybe Maui has some weird antenna leprechaun who goes around bending them. That’s really strange

Edit: what Sol said above makes way more sense

I never thought about that... very likely. Maybe all the washes are touch as well.

Just curious as it was noticed on more than a dozen.

Now wish I had plotted all of them.. haha. I agree though think the wash bending is very possi le due to so many rentals.

That was said earlier, they use car washing and dont take the antenna off prior to cleaning.

I will add that it may also be caused by constant tight roads with overgrown trees, grass, etc. I noticed when we were driving to Hana that despite being in my lane, the antenna was still being hit regularly.

I live here and yes, the rental Jeeps have lots of bent antennas.
Careless tourists?
Car Wash?
Maybe both.
The other thing I noticed is when they were renting the JK's the right (passenger) upper corner of the tailgate was bent out on many of them. I'm not sure why, maybe slamming it on an improperly installed rear window? They were all bent out in the same way.
We love/hate tourists here. They make good targets for people watching. Always doing things that locals won't do.
