I have read thru forums where the battery make take a few charges to stabilize for distance, but i am getting 4 miles which is concerning. Should i expect any recharging/regen of the battery if i enable max regen as i am not seeing it. Thanks in advancve

I charge at home it takes 16 hrs, i went to a charge point today and i ended up with ~30 percent in 2 hrs which was 5kw. The charge point was a 5KW/hr charge point location

A 5KW/hr chargepoint gives me about 40% in 1 hour, mind you some chargers will split the power in half if another vehicle is also plugged into a dual charger pedestal.

Depending on Max Regen to do any meaningful charging of the battery is useless, I actually turned of Max Regen and I seem to get better range.

Max regen doesn't allow you to coast, so you are constantly hitting the pedal, I prefer coasting when I drive.

Yeah Max Regen has kind of a confusing name because all it does it switch the Jeep into something more close to "one pedal driving" where it will start to use the regen brakes as soon as you start to let up on the gas pedal. As @BXFXJeep noted, this means you can't coast. Which, until you get used to it, often means the Jeep will slow itself down more than you intended and then you actually have to use more energy to get back up to the speed you were trying to maintain.

That said, plenty of people to adapt to max regen driving and like it. Personally, I don't use it because I don't feel like learning a new way to drive. I am used to coasting. But I guess the main point is that, despite the name, it doesn't actually capture more energy in that mode. I.E. it takes a certain amount of energy to get up to the speed you want, a certain amount of energy to maintain that speed, and slowing from that speed, there is a certain amount of energy that can be recaptured from the Jeep's momentum when you slow down. All of those energy amounts are the same in either mode. It's really just about how you want to interact with the Jeep as you drive it.

But much more importantly than that, can you elaborate on the 4 mile range thing?? That's from 100% charge? What are the driving conditions? Most people will report they get in the 20-25 range based on a variety of factors.

Smunro622, there is something wrong with your battery, your charger, or your usage scenario.

At 100%, my 4xe Rubi range guesstimator indicates 27 miles at ~70F and lately I'm getting anywhere from 25 to 31 miles before the battery indicates <1%. This varies if I use AC (more range) or windows down (less range i.e. lose ~2-6 miles) and speed/acceleration frequencies.

Alternatively, I've used my 4xe AC to cool a 3-car garage while puttering on a project and get ~5-6hrs before the battery gets down to 1%. In that use case, I would have zero miles of use on the full battery. What's your usage scenario, Smunro622?
