I don't know - I JUST pulled those two on mine 'cause I'm going to be welding and it kills it every time. You only remove the aft 10mm and then BOTH slide off.

If you've got a '20 or 2.0 or BSG perhaps the wiring is different from my dinosaur normally aspirated 3.6....?

What finally worked for me was removing the positive and negative terminasl from main battery and the negative lead for the secondary battery.

That’s exactly what we have to do. Negative from big battery and negative going to the post on the big battery from the smaller one.

That’s exactly what we have to do. Negative from big battery and negative going to the post on the big battery from the smaller one.

I do the same thing to disconnect 12v. Works every time. Only need to touch the negative side of the battery.

Here's a picture I borrowed from another post (ESS bypass thread). It shows the negative aux battery cable already disconnected in the picture below. Then all I do is remove the cable to the negative battery post entirely.
