I'm installing Barricade Rock Sliders on my JL Unlimited, which requires removal of the body mounting bolts. When reinstalling those body bolts, should I use any type of Loc-Tight on them, or just re-insert and tighten down?

Thanks.

I wouldn't put anything on them. I don't know if you have, but in case you haven't you should go the exterior section and look at one of the stickied post about broken body bolts.

Texas Jeeper, thank you SO MUCH for the heads up on the body bolt issue. I took your advice and returned the rock sliders. I'll look for something that doesn't require removing those bolts. Thanks again, God Bless.

You may want to check out the LOD destroyer sliders. They are very nice and do not require you remove the body bolts. On that note, I will tell you many of us have successfully installed sliders using the body bolts. There are several threads in the forum (including one from me) showing how we did it.

Oh man, sorry, should have explained a bit more. I meant I wouldn't put thread locker on the bolt when you put it back in. But in anycase, it was going to be a gamble taking out the bolts. Some have had good luck, some, not so much.

NP, my JL is a replacement for a JK that I lemon lawed. After 10 months of Chrysler BS, I'm not into taking a risk with busted body bolts. I'm grateful for the heads up. I'll find something else to install.
