Last week a friend and I installed a Harbor Freight Badland Apex 12000 pound winch on my JLUR's stock steel bumper and Warn winch plate. It was a pretty straightforward installation except for one thing. The supplied fairlead bolts are too short, and unfortunately are not something easily sourced locally.
They supply 45mm-long bolts (M12 X 1.75), which will secure the fairlead directly to the bumper, but will not go through the Warn winch mount's filler plate as well, nor will it allow the fitment of a plate flip. If you buy one of these winches and want to use a filler plate or a plate flip, you will need to source two stainless steel M12 x 1.75 60mm (or longer) hex head cap screws. I struck out trying to find someone who sells these near where I live so it was a 2-day wait for Fastenal to ship them. so just a heads-up.
