FYI. Mine works fine. I don't have any error messages. Pictures clean. Best $12 I've spent. I added a tire carrier. I took it apart and switched cables. I have my stock if anyone is interested. $20 plus shipping.

That's a great deal. I just paid $55 at the dealer. Next time...

Where did you connect the camera cable in the Jeep? Do you have o go from the dash to the tire carrier?

Anyone had any luck finding these cables from EAG? It's currently unavailable on Amazon. Also, like others asked, where does it connect to? All the way to the front dash or behind the tailgate plastic cover?

I just snapped my wire too! I won't get into the details...it was stupid.

Does anybody know how to fix or splice the back up camera wire? i tried soldering the center wire under the plastic sheathing but did not work. Jeep does not offer the pigtail replacement yet and all the sell is the entire tire carrier unit with everything. I pulled the camera off, and cut the other end of pig tail off were it connects to the tailgate wire, was thinking of taking it to a audio video store to see if they could splice it. I cannot find the type of wire that jeep uses or the connection. Has anybody done this of can give me an idea?

I cut mine to make it easier to install spare tire delete - was surprised to find it coax - I stripped it back and wrapped. Works fine but I went in and ordered a replacement was $62 - they had one in stock. Now I just need to install

The wire goes from the camera, into the tailgate, behind the panel, and plugs in to another harness there. It eventually goes to the dash, but that's not what you'll have to replace .

I did this too and was able to successfully splice. Think of the interior wire as positive and the wire mesh as negative. Solder the interior wires together, but some insulation around the solder joint like electrical tape or shrink tubing, then join both sides of the wire mesh together with some cut and stripped stranded wire (this provides lots of thin wires to marry the two mesh sides). I used electrical tape to join the wire mesh and the wire strands.

I don’t think I trust this to be a permanent fix, so I’ve ordered a replacement wire harness.

I did the same. Got the wire/harness in today. This part number is a replacement for backup camera and third brake light wire. It comes with harness, grommet for the door, and wrapped together like the factory one. Hope this helps!

Does this include the two connectors at each end of the camera cable? Basically, plug and play?

I just ordered this one because I broke mine today Hope it works, tried to find the ones listed above but Amazon says out of stock and no idea when or if they'll ever get anymore.
