I have a dash cam installed and want to wire it so it can run while the Jeep is off. My aux wire bundle has the direct to battery and ignition wires but when i tap into them i get nothing (no power). I have even tried testing with a volt meter and can’t get current in either wire. Is there some fuse or setting in the stereo (like the aux switches) that i am missing to get these to power on?

All my aux switches work fine. It just those 2 wires that don’t seem to have any power no matter if the Jeep is on or off.

This is what you should have. If not I would check fuses.

That is what I have in my bundle (and i had that exact image stored in my phone for reference while i was working). Any idea what fuse run 5 and 6. I am using all the other aux switches, so i know those fuses work.

Thank you. I will be checking my fuses in the morning.
Did you get this to work? Mine did and now the IGN one doesn’t. But the fuse is fine.

I did not. My fuses were fine, but the wires are still not active. I have a lot of wiring gremlins in my JL currently.

Where and how are you testing for voltage?

If you haven’t already, with the ignition on, or the circuit powered, use a multimeter set to 12 volts DC to test for voltage at the wires just prior to the dash cam.

If you aren’t seeing the expected voltage at the wires, put the black negative probe on the battery negative or another good ground. Touch the red positive probe on each side of the fuse terminal and see if you see voltage on each side.

There was a post about a wire swap. The AUX3 and Ignition are swapped. I've attached the picture but can't find the post.

It’s a cruel joke by the electrical engineering dept at Jeep. “Let’s have an orange and pink wire, and a pink and orange wire in the same bundle under the dash.”

Hahaha! I looked at the wires and had no idea which was which. So I tested the voltage on each.
