Started as the Auto Stop/Start Light was on....
So I went to replace the Aux Battery.

As so many folks have... Two leads touched and I fried the Fuse Array... so I replaced that as well.

But when reinstalling the aux battery, then reinstalling the TIPM when I reattach lead #1 the windshield wipers go on and the lights go on.

I know that's an emergency function.

The main battery is still not connected. When I did connect it, the dash was COMPLETE dark.

My status right now is both the main and aux batteries are out. The leads of the main battery are zip tied together. Should I zip tie the aux battery leads together as well?

I plan to leave it that way another hour... and then reinstall everything. How do I get the dash back? How do I get the computers to reconnect?

I went from an annoying problems to undriveable.

Besides the large fuse array, you may have blown some of the smaller fuses. You'll need to check those, hopefully that's all it is for the dash.

Update.... I put everything back together after the reset.... Windshield and Lights are off and operate normally. Dash is back. Everything started.

Getting a Power Steering needs service and Battery Light. The Auto Stop/Start Light is gone.

After a minute it says "Stop... Engine will shut down shortly" or something like that.

Thoughts? Fuse Array again... or Low Voltage on battery?

I would start by reading the attached from top to bottom to get an understanding of the system. This will help you troubleshoot the issue. Sounds like you might have a bad fuse, otherwise the Intelligent Battery Sensor (IBS) might be bad. This is a smart system that requires specific service procedures. If the state of charge is not accurate you will have charging issues.

You can OHM the fuses, the PDC cover shows you which posts belong to what as well, so you can trace your specific symptom. No charge, you can start by checking that alternator fuse.

When working on a two battery system, if you disconnect the battery cables they're still hot until both batteries are disconnected making it very easy to blow fuses.

Next time put the cable ends in a plastic sandwich bag and secure the bags with rubber bands. That will save you from the troubles you had this time around.

Hi Travis,
I have a 2019 JL. 2.0 Turbo with one battery, no Aux. Have been having all kinds of Christmas lights dashboard syndrome, including losing power steering and wipers going!! Might you be able to steer me in the right direction where I can find an article for the single battery system? I’m into the “diagnostics with the dealer for over $500 and they still haven’t figured it out because they can’t “duplicate the problem”!!!
Thanks so much!

Have you replaced the canbus bar (20pin)? That is what usually causes that

jdame84, yes, replaced the green canbus behind the glove ox and that fixed it!! Come to find out each of those small connectors within the canbus have a resistor and it is common for some of those to fail, giving you a Christmas Light dash!!
thanks
