bought the Jeep in July 2021 and thought I might start a thread.

i originally bought the Jeep as my 2 door JK was getting close to worn
out and I was starting to worry about reliability because I do a lot of very remote driving.

my work commute when I bought it was 600km with 200km of dirt roads.
over the next couple of trips i just added lights, winch and tyres.
aussie rubicons come with KM2s and I rapidly got sick of the noise so stuck a set of maxxis razr MTs on in 295/70/17

it was pretty obvious from the get go that the fuel range wasn’t anywhere near good enough so I fitted a 65L Auxiliary fuel tank giving a total 146L

The stock suspension lasted 17000km before I blew the rear shocks.
fitted dobinson 3” progressive springs with fully adjustable MMR shocks.
also adjustable front lower arms and extended swaybar links.

On the inside I fitted a GME UHF radio with a windscreen stick on aerial.
also a Cel-Fi go permanently mounted. I also carry a sat phone and epirb/PLB
in the rear I fitted a 30L fridge drawer and storage draw along with a 100amp battery.
plus a trailgater table.
I am not real happy with the battery mounting so will make something else when I get time

like most things, once you have done it 50 times it becomes a bit of a chore.
unless it rains and then it livens up a bit.

Haha definitely, 7 days on then 7 off. I was managing an environmental offset area for a mining company. Basically a 76000 hectare area of bush. (187800acres)

i normally work in the fire management field however my wife got sick of me being away all the time so I am just bumming around in town at the moment?

Spent the last couple of weeks jeeping, drove to South
Australia to catch up with mates for a week of wheeling
and camping.
was a pretty epic drive there and back with 1/2 of Australia
under water. drove 3500km in two days to get home and
beat a massive amount of flooding.

can’t wait for next years trip.

Recently went to the Aussie Jeep jambore, had a brilliant time but broke a couple of things.
ripped the rear bumper off and replacing it with a Ironman raid bumper, hopefully it turns up Soon.
also fitted some new wheels.

I have been playing around with starlink to improve my remote Comms.
cut the dish up and made a bit of a bodgy case for the bits that work.
also converted it to run on 12volt.

turns out the the dish works through the wrangler hardtop really well so no need to mount to the outside.

just need to come up with a decent permanent mount for the dish.

It’s been a while since I updated the post and I have changed things a bit.
still not 100% happy with the setup but it’s getting close.

have starlink, modem and a 2000w inverter mounted to a shelf.
under the floor is a ARB single compressor with easy access to the storage tub.
40L fridge on a slide with 2x100amp lipo4 batteries next to the fridge.
40amp dc-dc keeps it all charged. Can now run an induction cooktop, ice machine and a decent coffee machine.
thinking I will need to make a draw next to the fridge.

also finally fitted a steering dampener flip, track bar and steering box brace and replaced the rear springs with load rated ones.

Fitted a rhino backbone pioneer setup so I could mount a solar panel, my fridge runs indefinitely now.
starlink is also mounted to the rack, not much difference to how it works.
