owned a '11, a '12, and the current '14, all Saraha soft tops. All 3 leaked in the common leak areas (over the door jam into the foot well, from the 'sponge' seals at the door split area, etc). kinda tired of the constant wringing out and damp smell. In the new jlu, it looks like the redesigned the roof 'gutter'. do you know of any real intended changes to combat all the leak issues of the jku? Hard to believe Jeep didnt try something after all the complaints.

Yes, they have tried to address this a few ways. First, there are extra seals in the top, along with a slightly redesigned overlap system. The 2 major things that were done is they added A pillar drain tubes and made the tops much lighter and easier to install. The main reason we see leaks is damage to the seals. Much of this comes from misalignment or dragging the tops across the seals damaging them. The old tops were a little more awkward when trying to seat them and you would have to shuffle them to find that stupid pin to get in its place. By moving the pin to the front, it's easier to align. The drain tubes help with the water management.

@dealerguy. My jeep is on the way and should be here next week.

Question: My build on Jeep.com vs the sticker conflict pricing. Its a $200 difference. I found the issue. On my sticker, the 8.4 Info package is $1495 and the Jeep.com build site shows $1295. Which one is correct? Anyone else notice this on their sticker?

Yea, the online price is wrong. The correct pricing for that is the $1495

My dealer's parts manager wont budge on the 8k price :(. Told me he gave me the wrong wheels (beadlocks) but discounted them to match the others and that it's a good deal. I told him it all looks full price on the invoice and he then switched to well the discount is on labor lol. I'll give it a few days and try again I suppose, or I'll just order the parts myself and do the work also.

The labor is the biggest charge. What are they telling you per hour?

145 an hour, total of 1546.11. I could very well be underestimating times for a lift, wheels, calibration, and tire carrier install but 10 hours seems lengthy.

Most places charge by hours. They look at a lift and the book says 4 hours so you get chared 4 hours even though it may take less time. 10 hours seems actually pretty low to me but the $145 an hour, they aren't doing you any favors there. Should be closer to $115 an hour if they want to give you a "deal" on the labor since they are charging you full pop for the parts.

Guess I just had sticker shock then lol. I'm struggling because its exactly what I want in a nice little bundle. I've spent almost 15k on my JK so hey it's half off if I think of it that way.

Suppose I could also inquire about credit for the parts they take off, or sell them after the fact to help with the cost.

Also meant to add, Thanks JLWF Dealer Guy!

Hey dealer guy how goes it ? Yep it is me and I am back with the same old question
is there news on the release date for the Tan premium soft top?
Is it true that this is only available with the 2.0 turbo?
If I order my jeep now and the tan soft top is not available does my order just go to order hold or some sort of permanent delay?

Seems like everything else that was late availability is here except maybe sting grey and monitor .so what is so hard about a tan soft top?
If I want to be sure to get one before the new model year comes out what is the latest I can order assuming the tan top does not become available?
Thanks for all your help

FUTURE JLU
Hello from Florida @JLWF Dealer Guy in a week or two I'll be heading to the dealer to order my new JLU but I want to ask you what would be a good deal/price that I should be paying approx.

2018 WRANGLER UNLIMITED SPORT S 4X4
6-Speed Manual Transmission
Anti-Spin Differential Rear Axle
Black Freedom Top® 3-Piece Hard Top
Alpine® Premium Audio System

Any advise would be greatly appreciated.

It's sitting there but not available to select. I'm not sure what the hold up is but it seems destined to open up soon. It shows up under any configuration at the moment.
