Are these SRC Side Armor w/ Step from smittybilt any good?

Hello,
I'm new to the forum and this is my first post. I just purchased a 2019 JLU Rubicon this weekend that is lifted 2" and sitting on 37"s. I am looking for a set of steps for the wife to View attachment 1755437675246-33.png get in and out easier and would like some extra protection for hitting the trails as well. I've looked at a lot of rock sliders and have been told to go with DOM steel and frame mount but those all seem to be $1k - $2k. I don't mind spending that down the road on an upgrade but am hoping to get something for now that is still decent protection. Here is what I have found so far. Any advice would be very helpful on if these are ok or if there is anything else I should be looking at that may be better.

I've been running these for 6+ years and extremely happy with them. However, it really depends on how much rock crawling you plan to do. I don't believe this product is designed for heavy duty use bouncing off large rocks.

My JLU is my daily driver and sees lots trails with snow/mud but no rock crawling. These provide a very functional step and provide great protection from rude car owners with large doors parked next to you. I've lost count of the times I've been sitting in my JLU and then hearing a loud "bang" followed by curse words from the driver damaging their own door after hitting the SRC Side Armor.
