This won’t be for everyone, but if you’re curious, a single ARB will fit under the hood, above the motor. I have a twin ARB compressor under the passenger seat, but now that I have an air locker, I really don’t want it kicking on while I’m wheeling. Taking inspiration from @813 Fabrication & Design, I built this mount and squeezed in in with about a 1/4” on either side… (I tried the 813 mount near the battery, and it just won’t fit). I know ARB has even smaller compressors for just running lockers, but I also wanted a backup in case my twin ever fails. Or if I’m in a real hurry to air up, I did tie the airlines all together (with check valves to isolate the compressors) so that I could run both at once to flow some serious air.
I drilled 2 holes in the firewall lip and tied into the stud bolt below:
How the mount sits from the side.
I just used some scrap steel pieces I had laying around.
Trimmed just a small amount off the coolant bottle nub-
It’s a TIGHT fit!
Plenty of clearance above the motor.
