I had this problem with my 2019 JL Sahara. Dealership replaced the center console USB, and I think made sure the harness was snug. It eliminated the random drop outs, however, sometimes on start up I have to take the cable in and out of the phone a couple times before it connects, but once connected, it won't drop out. I also use an official apple USB-C cable to an Iphone 15 Pro, and a USB C to USB A converter. Prior to the Iphone 15 I was using an official apple USB lightning cable. Lesser quality cables would cause drop outs using front or center console ports.
I just got a 2023 JT Mojave and have the same damn center console problem using the exact cables from the 2019 JL Sahara. Works fine in the front dash USB ports, but Center console I get 1-2 drops per 30 min.
Going to have the Dealership check wire harness connections. For some reason it seems the drop outs occur intermittently during acceleration, a turn, or a bump, which would tend to make me think wire harness connection.
Are people still having this problem with the new UConnect 5 radios in the 2024's?
