Anyone with Teardrop Trailers? Looking for recommendations

Hey all,

First Jeep we've owned ('18 JLU S) and we are looking to get a teardrop trailer or something of the sort to hopefully camp for cheap (or free!). I have a soft top so I can't really go the Roof Tent route.

Are there any of you that do this currently? Which trailers did you end up buying/using? We live in Ohio so it'll need to tolerate both ends of the spectrum weather wise also.

Paul @suchacrisis what's your price range and must have and desired features. The teardrop space goes from that which can be pulled by a motorcycle and just slept in to the Airstream. Climate control suggests maybe that you're in the R-pod space....they're awesome.

I'd say mandatory is pretty much only A/C at this point, so electric hookups of some sort I'm assuming? Both of us have never owned any type of camper/trailer, so I'm pretty new to this. A kitchenette would be nice also. Hoping to stay under 12,000 if possible. It doesn't have to be New, we're willing to buy used as well.

Every reason you mentioned suggests R-Pod. If Warren Buffet of Berkshire Hathaway bought the company, it should speak volumes. There's so many options in features, new or used, etc.

I have a 2015 Little Guy T@G MAX that we use our Sahara JL with. You can get those new or barely used for under 12k. The new Little Guy MAX Mini are also nice and compact. The T@G MAX was our choice for the convenience of being able to store in the garage.

Thank you! I don’t yet, but that will be my next YouTube project. I only expect it to be about 5-7 minutes as I mostly have still shots, but it will walk through start to finish.

Went to the RV show today. Here's some options for you, all well within JLU tow weights. Hope that gives you some direction on your search. Personally I really loved the 16 Hybrid. Lots of room, 2600lb's dry weight, nice kitchen and bathroom.
