Well, I ended up getting the rewards as expected. I Got the Cardinal Red katzkins from the dealer in MI for $749 shipped to my door, and they were able to get the whole $749 from of my Jeep rewards, and I have close to $200 left to spend. So to recap, by using my Jeep card to pay my down payment I got all of those rewards for free. I paid my Jeep card balance off the same week, that I used it, I just had to wait for the new balance to show up as a charge. Then I used the online bill pay form the Firstcard ap, and used my savings account to fund the payment. This literally cost me zero. I also could have taken advantage of 6 months no interest. But I don't like to mess around with those programs. For those that are about 6 months away form having the ideal down payment, this could be a great option though.
If you are considering buying a jeep, you must get this card. Even if you have a short time line for buying your jeep, you may not accrue big rewards towards the Jeep purchase, but you can accrue big rewards during your Jeep purchase for things like Katzkins, or tires, or any number of other add ons. The only other thing I really want is the new Bestop soft doors that are supposed to be coming. They come in Twill or black diamond. I have the twill top, so of course I want the twill doors, which are more expensive. But maybe by the time they come out Ill have enough rewards built up to buy some.

I still don't know if my Bonus cash certificate that driveplus is sending out will qualify. their response is, let us look at the cert. I should have it Monday afternoon, hopefully, if it truly went out this week as Driveplus (jeep card) says.
If you got a Jeep card in 2018, check your anniversary date. Mine was May 6th. So they issue the $1000 bonusdrive cash cert on your anniversary. If your looking in to a jeep card, get it quickly, and pay all your bills the next 3 months, You should easily hit the $7500 required to qualify. Given if Wranglers don't end up qualifying right now, for me, I would guess they might by next year, given all the left over inventory form 2018. Seems wranglers are starting to sell a bit more slowly, and rising gas prices, and an increasingly unstable economy wont help either. Wranglers will always be popular, but a few percentage will have a big effect on the accounting dept.
I’ve decided this $1000 bonus certificate is largely a scam for most DrivePlus cardholders. The fact that they don’t issue until until after the rewards-year anniversary is at odds with the fine print of the offer itself which simply states allow 6-8 weeks for the certificate to be issued and sent. You could theoretically wait 14 months for a certificate by their interpretation. Even if that amount of time works for one’s purchase plans, then you can be told by your dealer that your intended new vehicle doesn’t qualify. At least I lucked out with a dealer that upped the down payment CC cap to $10000 so I get the $1000 in rewards for my JLUR 3.0.

My cert showed up a few weeks after I made my purchase. It would have worked for my 18, but not a 19. The nice thing is, it’s good for a year. So I will hang on to it. You never know what may happen. It would have been nice to save another grand, but I got over $10,000 off, and I used my card for the down payment, so a month later I ordered the red katzkin leather interior, for free, plus had points left over. I have already saved up $900 again, so my next set of tires should be free too. But that’s a few years away.

Did you pass the end of your rewards year as those few weeks elapsed? I was told not to expect it before the rewards year (anniversary of the account activation) ends.

I bought my Jeep about 4-6 weeks after my anniversary.
Looks like all wranglers are excluded from the offer at this time, https://www.promodrivepluscard.com/
My cert expires 5/31/2020, but there is no qualifying FCA auto that I have any interest in buying.

This is what the cert looks like, with all restrictions. Even if you lose the cert, FCA has a hotline you can call, that keeps track of all your available promos. 800-227-0757

I've had the card for a while & my experience is it's just not worth the trouble IMO. Dealer tried to use my points & couldn't get them to go thru so I used another card. Also you can only redeem cash back in $25.00 increments not the whole amount. I pay my cards in full every month & have no problems with other cards.

Redeeming points is trickier than it needs to be. But I was able to use my doubled points for $1200 towards my down payment, and I used my Jeep card for the other portion of my down payment. Then I used the doubles points accrued from my down payment, to fully pay for the katzkin leather interior. I did have to wait about a month after delivery for the points to post. Then I called a dealer in MI that has a parts Dept, that sells parts at wholesale. They sold me the Katzkins for $740 delivered, and after jumping through a few hoops, I was able to use only points, and zero cash to pay the bill. I’ll probably buy most of my parts and service with points, as they are easy to accrue, and they double when used at an FCA dealer.

Trickier is a nice way to put it. I don't have the patients to deal with their junk when I have other cards that are just as easy to use & can redeem all my money at once. Glad it worked out for you!

Yes, Capital one makes it real easy. Just go in their app, and slide the button to redeem points on purchases. It doesn’t get any easier than that. I’m a fan for sure.

Cap 1 is about the easiest to redeem from. Seems a few other companies could take a lesson from them!

Good to hear with some work the double points to order parts and accessories through a dealer works.

I was only able to put $2k on the card for my Jeep down payment but I took advantage of the $100 credit in the first month of the card to get my all weather mats for only $60.

My current plan is to keep using it for gas (4% back with double points beats the 2% on my primary CC) and redeem for some accessories later this year.

Yea I wonder how frequently the official rules are different than the website’s listed model eligibility. Somewhat moot for me since 10+ weeks have gone by and no cert has been issued.

Call 800-227-0757, and ask if you have any bonus bucks available. They should be able to see the bonus certificate when it’s ready to print, and possibly even tell you when it’s expected to ship out. Also if you happen to lose it, they should have it on file. It’s good for 12 months after issue. I kept mine, because even though I’m very happy with my Jeep, you never know if some catastrophe could happen in a 12 month period, and I would need a replacement. I live in FL, hurricanes and tourists are destructive to personal property.

Yea they have nothing because the $1000 bonus certificate via the card is a scam that they issue so far after qualifying as to make minimally useful to the average recipient. Even if it does come in the right timeframe, the list of qualified vehicles is a joke.
