I saw something about this one having to splice into the can bus as well, is this accurate or does it just plug and play into obd2?
No, it’s just plug and play. The only thing you’ll need to do is run the wire down the left side of the dash to the OBD2 port. The ODB2 adapter is on the end of the wire.

If you live in a state that requires a registration or inspection sticker on the lower right corner of the windshield, you may want to take that into account.

And you gotta love that 80s/90s digital alarm clock display, that'll look awesome up in you line of sight.
First off, it’s not in your line of sight, which is why I chose this one over others that may have better optics and second, as I said in my first reply, it replaces the speaker cover and looks OEM.
As for your second point, my state doesn’t require an inspection sticker, but I do have a sticker for my parking garage which is roughly the same size and it does not interfere with the display.
Lastly, I didn’t purchase it for primary use. For me it’s just an additional technological device. My 25+ year career has been in information technology so I typically gravitate towards tech gadgets. I’ve add just about every gadget possible to my JL.
I get it not every mod is for everyone. The OP asked if anyone had one installed or experience with the HUD technology and as you, I added my 2-cents.

HUD to me is a solution looking for a problem, sort of like curved TVs/Monitors or 3D TV glasses. Have used them all and can't find a good reason to want to use them. Then again, the campfire fart scene in Blazing Saddles makes me laugh, so I just may be too much of a simpleton to appreciate the finer things.
curved monitors have a purpose. I have a 47” curved monitor in my office. I can use it split screen instead of having several monitors on my desk. So it saves space. Also, the curve keeps confidential information away from prying eyes.
But I also laugh at the campfire farting scene in Blazing Saddles ?

Got more pics? Saw this on alibaba a while back but they didn’t have a jeep graphic (petty I know). Does it show the blind spot alerts ?

Well just to see if it's even something I'd like or want to use, I realized that phones can do everything. So I downloaded a HUD app on my work phone. After using it for a grand total of one 5 mile trip home from work, I found that I like the speedo, but don't necessarily like it being... THERE. So I may pivot and check out some sort of digital A-pillar cluster instead that would give me the vehicle/speed info.

Appreciate the feedback all!
