7" or 9"

First jeep ever. 2018 Wrangler JL Sport S. non LED lights. First let me understand. The older jeeps had 7" lights and the new 2018 has 9". With adapters coming out that lets you fit a 7' to a 9" how is the extra space made up. Also, for you experienced guys is this a viable option or should I wait for a dedicated 9" LED to come out? Thanks for the help with this. I do know that there are a lot of good 7" LED's for the older wranglers.

With a bezel. these are from the install vid from the retrofit source. I have a set of these adapters on order

it looks like these move the 7" forward into the recess in order to help make up the difference in size. then the only thing you really see is that lip at the edge of the 7" light.

57 bucks bucks with the app coupon code... what the hell lol. that's why i bought the adapters. So i can play with different lights. I've had good luck with these types of chinese ones in the past.

so with the coupon code for the adapters "bright" i believe and these lights i'll be all of 237 bucks into these headlights...

That's a lot easier to stomach than 500+

Congrats and welcome to the Jeep family! Yes you are correct, the JK and older use a 7" round headlight while the JL uses a 9". WIth that being said, the opening on the JL grille is not 9" and the headlight overlaps behind the grille. The actual opening on the JK and JL grille isn't much different. The extra space is very minimal and actually looks better than the 7" does on the JK IMO. We have plenty of pics on our website which you can check out here.

Waiting for a 9" headlight would be up to you, and what you prefer aesthetically. There shouldn't be a light strength difference between the two. I do know that most companies 9"JL specific headlights are over a year out at this point.

Just use adapters. And I'll run the halos with the halos on the fogs to the drl in the fender (the fogs are already run there.

and in all seriousness. 35% off is a pretty solid deal for plug and play.

looks like they'd come out to $346 with the anti-flicker harness.

I'm at 180 for the adapters = 127 for the lights. so 307 with no anti flicker. add 15 with and you're at 322... for an untested/unproved setup.

Good deal on those for black friday. if you had posted that deal before this morning i would have been a buyer haha.
