Anyone else carry a master key?

That's a great idea for smaller trees (maybe max of 10" diameter?). Beyond that and you'd need a chainsaw, or lacking that, hopefully it can be moved with a winch.

Even better that it's small enough to stash under the driver's seat. That's compelling.

If we are going out on forest roads I carry a dewalt 12" bar chainsaw. If the tree is too big for that I don't want to spend hours playing lumberjack anyway.

Many (many) years ago I worked on radio communications, climbing broadcast towers and whatnot. We did a bunch of our work on various mountain peaks around the country. Many of the access roads to these radio/broadcast sites were managed by the forest service.

I climbed cell towers back in the day. It was always a great day when you get 2 extra hours of overtime searching through a million padlocks on an access gate to find the one you have the combo to. Flipping through them all is still a nightmare I have to this day.

My Master Key has 7 "key blanks" in it...just in case the first key blank doesn't "fit" the lock.

Always knew the "master key" as bolt cutters, a "key to the city" was a shot gun with a shortened barreled. Incredibly useful in the same scenario.
