Was about to buy a bottle jack to replace the scissor jack now that I'm lifted with big tires until I came across a porta power. I know they're mostly used for body work, but would it be a sensible all in one multipurpose kit that could be useful off road? Not really wanting a hi lift since they take up a lot of space and can be pretty dangerous.

If you can swing it, arb has in my opinion one of the best options on the market with their new jack.

To answer your question, no I don’t know anyone that carries a porta power

Unless you're driving a rig that's prone to breaking a lot I wouldn't bother carrying one. And they are heavy too. I have a few at work that my equipment mechanics use occasionally and it's a bigger headache than it's worth.
