First thing I noticed on my JL yesterday when I picked it up that is going to change. Test drive with an auto I didn't really think about it, but the quiet exhaust makes it a little challenging with a 6-speed. No biggie, but a mild exhaust note would be nice.
With the limited number of manufacturers making axle-back systems for the JL, and those that do are kind of pricey for what they are, has anyone tried fabbing up their own? It doesn't look like it would be that difficult to do, and since there is a stock clamp connection right at the axle, putting the stock one back on would be easy when going to sell, turn in from lease, etc.

If I decide to tackle one, I'll take pics & post follow up

I had my local buddy bend up some tubing and make a turndown for me and another buddy we just decided to cut off the stock pipe off the muffler and use that and add tube from there it sounds good in my opinion and tucks the exhaust up high and gets it out of the way and it was super cost effective

...bend up some tubing and make a turndown...
Thanks for the reply.
Perfect! I'm thinking I may do the same. Worried it still may be a tad loud w/o a muffler or resonator back there. I could give it a try and always squeeze one in if it is too loud. How about drone?

Drone really isn't bad, hardly noticeable I have an 8 speed so it might be a little different than yours but for the last 3 weeks I have had the top and doors off and you really do not notice it then. I honestly was surprised it wasn't louder when I first did it because I was originally planning on adding a muffler up under the driver seat if it was but I like it how it is. When you get on it its definitely noticeable but normal daily driving it isn't annoying in my opinion and like I said before the price was right.
