Okay, so this has been a saga. My '18 JL manual had close to 75k on it when I got the letter for clutch recall. Was driving fine but took to get squared away.

The clutch replacement took a total of 12 business days. FCA/Stellantis paid for a rental all 12 days, which is unnerving to me because it had to be justified for that length of time, and i don't know what justified that....

Day 5: Was told vehicle ready, then called back to say clutch didn't feel right when they pulled the jeep around, and extended my rental. I was told they needed to bleed the clutch.

Day 11: Called, vehicle ready. I somehow was given the tech print out of steps for doing the job, which literally says in bold that bleeding the clutch is not part of the clutch recall? ***Any techs here that can clarify that?***

So I pick up my vehicle, clutch is brand new and definitely feels different, engages sooner with more pressure behind the pedal than any manual I've driven before. Drive it down the road and "Service Transmission" comes on. Back to the dealership next day. They reprogram some computer stuff and give the jeep back. The clutch no longer has excess pressure behind the pedal. Seems to engage normally though, but can be difficult to go N to 1st sometimes but goes into 1st easier from other gears.

They were never able to clear the "Service Transmission", but told me it could be my tire size. Mind you I have 285/65/18s on factory wheels. They advise they would do a tire size update free of charge. I said I'd come back for it because I was about to purchase larger tires anyway.

This was about a month ago. Service Transmission message went off for awhile but is back on today. Coincidentally clutch feels different today. Cant figure out if I'm overthinking it, it's first thing in the morning and I hopped in to drive the kids to school... Haven't updated my tires yet...

To add to things, a transmission mount nut fell off in my driveway the other day. And when I looked under, I was missing 2 of the 3. So now I'm wondering what the @$#! they have or haven't done at the dealership. Not to mention, I've been getting some noise (like a shrill rattle or backlash of some kind) after shifting up, releasing the clutch, then pressing the gas. Never had this noise previously. I'm just really over it all.

Oh and I came to the dealer for the transmission mount nuts, that they didn't put back on, and was told they would need a day and a half. I said look just give me the damn things and I'll put them on at home myself. ? That was yesterday and I'm here at the dealer now waiting for them to screw on 2 freaking nuts

Update, they quickly took care of the missing transmission mount nuts and that's all done now. And had to edit my post a but to more accurately describe the timing of the backlash noise

Good lord! Pending we have parts in stock that clutch recall should really only take a competent tech about 2-3ish hours to finish pending we aren't getting pulled off the job to work on other vehicles or waiters. But no you do NOT have to open up the clutch hydraulic system ever for the recall.
The only clutch recall Jeep we had issues with was a trade in Rubi that had been re-geared to 4.88's (us the dealership didn't know it had been regeared since it was a trade in from another store) and after the software update it had lost it's calibration for the aftermarket gears and it would set the trans overtemp message shortly after driving until it was reprogrammed for the gearing.

Okay so does bleeding the clutch mean the hydraulic system gets opened? Service advisors just regurgitate whatever the tech tells them so I don't even know if they meant something else.

And at this point I don't know what to do, or if I should drive 45 min out of town to pay a different Jeep dealership to check things out. I don't even know what to tell them to check out. I feel like I would know if something was gravely wrong, but there's no way the Service Transmission message just keeps intermittently coming on due to some 32" tires. I don't want any catastrophic surprises. I still have 24k on my warranty also.

The hydraulic parts do not need to be disassembled for a clutch swap, nor should it need bleeding. Take it back to the dealer that did the work and demand they fix it.
