I have a Dometic PLB40 AH battery pack that I’m using to run my fridge. I have already ran an ARB fridge wiring kit to the rear which is connected straight to my battery. originally, I planned to run the fridge off of my starter battery but that plan changed.

If I were to connect the 8awg wire from the ARB kit to aux switch #3 (15amp), would I have any issues? I’m a little concerned with how small the wire is from switch #3. I’d use the other two 40 amp switches but my high power switches are being used to power Baja Designs LP series lights.

my idea is to be able to charge the PLB40 off my battery when the vehicle is running and then have it shut off when the car is off.

The PLB40 is rated at 8amps max charging input.

Does anyone for see any issues?

I’d wire the 8ga to a relay and control the relay with the aux switch. Or you can run the relay off of an ignition source so that it always turns on when you start the engine.

If anything, the oversized 8 awg should reduce voltage drop over the run. Safe wire size for 10 amps over that distance is in the 14-16 awg range at 3% drop. You're already correctly fused for the wire at the factory location.

My biggest concern would be achieving good connections at either end of the 8, that's a large change in wire size, so a butt style connector large enough for the 8 will be too large to make a confident connection on the smaller wire.

Almost a waste to have that much wire going to the rear without utilizing it, you should be set up decently for a hard mount compressor.

I would keep it wired like you've got and use a relay that designed for it, like a redarc SBI12. You'll have a better isolation without having to use a aux switch.
