I posted a question earlier on speaker replacements and noted I had separate plans for replacing the subwoofer. I began looking into ideas for the sub and had a curious conversation with a Crutchfield representative who said that the output for an aftermarket amp should be not more than 350 watts RMS because the 4xe "has some sensitive electronics."
Is this correct or is there any general or specific caution for the specifications of an aftermarket amp in a 4xe? What I'd like to use is my very compact Rockford Fosgate T750X1bd amp (500 watts RMS x1 @4 ohms) if it's not impossible, ill-advised, or likely to warp the time-space continuum.
