I've noticed an issue with the AM radio volume. I can turn it all the way up when starting out in the Jeep and you can barely hear it. However, if I switch to FM and then back to AM it corrects itself. It's a minor issue, but, one I'm going to ask about when I take it in for the first oil change. No issues with FM, bluetooth, SXM or anything else.

Oh, one other weird thing, I had quite a few extras installed when I bought my jeep. (The dealer has a customization shop attached). I had a light bar and three sets of light pods installed. When I switch any of the pods or bar on, the radio becomes completely distorted? Kinda odd, and maybe there's a simple explanation? Frequency of the lights? Power issue?

Just curious if anyone is seeing the same issues?

I haven't experience your AM issue, but one that sounds related. In the 7 months I've had my JL, this issue has occurred 3 times. I got in and the radio would not play any sound, regardless of how high the volume was turned or which input I was using (bluetooth, USB, SXM, FM). However if I just flipped it over to AM radio it would play sound, then I could flip it back to any other input, it returned to functioning normally. Obviously a very minor inconvenience once I learned this simple fix, but annoying before I learned that.

Regarding the sounds when using your light bar, may I suggest this simple experiment. Connect your phone using a USB cord and see if that sound is affected when you turn on the lights. If it is, then it clearly isn't a frequency issue since the sound source is plugged into your Jeep. If however the distortion doesn't occur when using a USB-connected device, then perhaps the lights are distorting your reception. (although I'd be very surprised this would occur with SXM)

Hello steelchair,

Keep us updated on your visit when you go in for your oil change. If any assistance is needed while you're working with the dealer, don't hesitate to connect with our team via direct message.

Yup, I have the exact same issue. I got it on video, with audio this morning before I took it to the dealership for a transmission issue. After watching my video they created a star case, nothing more. No I guess I wait for that process. :(

Wow! Thanks for the video. Please keep us posted on anything you get back. It's not the only quirk I've noted with the head unit...it's just the only one that is repeatable enough to explain. I won't even get into the CarPlay issues. Thanks again!
