I have talked to Bestop and they are sending the new "Kit"...or, at least they say they are. Spoke with them two weeks ago and haven't seen anything yet. I'll keep you posted and thanks for the comments.
the vibration and "flapping" with the back window is not annoying....it's maddening!!! I've read every post I can find, checked the install multiple times and I cannot make it stop...unless I roll the windows down. At that point it's much better, but, it's still there.
I made it through...
that protects the paint when you're hauling stuff? Seems like there should be something that would snap on or, less preferred, stick on that would protect the gate when you're hauling stuff with the top off. Or, even when you're hauling with the top on and a board or something sticking out...

Here's my setup...glad to answer any questions. I screwed up the measurement on the ceiling holes, but, I'm going to change to 4" PVC so it won't matter.
I built one very similar to this in the attic of my garage. It pulls the top up out of the way and I can easily do it on my own. Total cost was around $300.00. It's clean, easy and not terribly difficult to build. In addition to the hoist, and to address some of the concern others have...
