Hello guys,

I have a 2020 JLUSS with stock audio (non-alpine). I just ordered an Alpine powered sub (pwe-s8) on Amazon for $240. I called a couple local car-audio shops and they want $400 to install it. I have zero experience in audio installs but $400 seems to be steep.

Can you guys suggest what would be a good price for this install? I am in Connecticut and if you guys have any recommendations, please do let me know. Thanks in advance!!

$400 doesn’t seem crazy. I am assuming that they will have to do moderate disassembly of the dash to integrate the sub into the system and run power and ground. Assuming they are charging around $100 an hour or thereabouts, it could certainly take a few hours.

Someone posted in a local group that they got it installed at best buy for $150.

Seems steep for sure. Running the power wire may be a little involved, but depending on where you are wanting it installed, you can grab signal from the trusted speaker wires that run up the B pillar behind the passenger seat. $150 sounds more reasonable.

Did you get it installed already? If so did you do it yourself or paid someone to do it? I just purchased one and trying to install it. Thanks

I got it installed by an audio shop. Not worth it. No major improvement. I would suggest to go with a better sub-woofer like atleast 400w+.

I sold the Jeep and got a 4xe which has Alpine upgrade. It's really not that good.

Ok thanks. I already upgraded my speakers by adding a KTP 445U Amp to it and its a huge improvement to stock but now I want to add bass
