My JLUR has the same cracking/static noise with certain inputs (some music radio talk hosts, and especially when I receive calls and the person starts talking). Comes mainly from the left front speaker but maybe a bit from the right front speaker too. Have turned mids and treble down but still persists. Believe it has to do with amplification to these speakers.

This is definitely a software/amplification issue. When I run my music thru Apple CarPlay, the same songs that make the speakers crackle and pop when just using Uconnect play just fine. Has to be something with the Uconnect software.

Hope they fix it with next update

I had the same frustrating issue with my alpine system beginning 2 weeks ago.. I called the factory customer service & she walked me through a software reboot tonight & previous sound has been restored ! She instructed me to turn the key but not start the Jeep to initiate power with the doors shut. Next I was to depress & hold both the voice ready & phone buttons located on the steering wheel for 30 secs then open driver door for 30 seconds afterwhich close door & start up vehicle ... I can’t recall if I removed the key in between steps so call customer service for a walk through.. hope this helps everyone out !

Hi everyone, I am new to this forum and thought I should share the steps I took to fix this issue.

  1. While you are outside of the car, unlock the car.
  2. Once inside close the driver side door.
  3. Press only once the Start/Stop button in order to put the car in "ACC" mode.
    1. Once you do this you'll see that the "ACC" lights up in the Start/Stop Engine button.
  4. Press 2 times Start/Stop button. The Start/Stop button will now light up "Off" (the first time you press the button it goes to Run and the second time it goes to Off).
  5. Press and hold the Green Phone and Voice Activation buttons at the same time for 35 seconds.
  6. The infotainment screen may turn off. It is OK if it does or doesn't.
  7. Let go of both buttons.
  8. Open the driver side door for 35 seconds.
  9. Close the driver side door.
  10. Turn on the car and engine.
  11. Test it.
  12. Done.

Old post but I was wondering if anyone has fixed this issue. The reset procedure above did not fix mine. I have a 2019 Grand Cherokee with the Alpine option. Only certain songs through CarPlay and Bluetooth make the sound like the OP stated. Any help?
