  6. Loving my ROAM frame-mounted side steps/rock sliders

I know it's holiday season and parts ordering is higher than normal. But I also sent an email to Roam and got no response. A little customer support would go a long way with ensuring customers are getting timely answers and to not start looking for competing products. I've been there myself --...
  7. Giveaway of the Month

@GhostDivers and @mtnbiker73. Wow! I'm at a loss for words. Saying you all are too kind doesn't seem enough. I took my son out for lunch earlier and we were talking about Jeep parts and my son mentioned how he really wanted to help with installing some parts. I just told him in due time, since...
  8. Giveaway of the Month

That's very kind of you! Thanks so much. Jeep people are the best and most generous group of people I've ever met. :)
  9. Giveaway of the Month

Hi Metal Cloak! My name is Brian. I've been a Jeep owner for the past 15 years, owning quite a few Jeeps in that time. This is my 2nd Wrangler, and since life is short, I decided for the JL Rubicon! My story and reason for wanting to win some of your awesome Jeep products probably differs quite...
  10. AEV JL Wrangler Products & Builds [SEMA 2018 - JLWF Coverage]

I know release dates are hard to come by but the stubby front and rear AEV bumpers will be what I will be ordering. @AEVRogue these look great! Is there a mailing list to simply sign up for to receive a notification of availability? Thanks!
  11. Track bar frame weld issue recall! [Updated with official UA5 recall notice w/ repair procedure]

Those have to be among some of the worse I've seen posted here or elsewhere. I hope they work with you to fully correct or replace. lot of yours looked like my 1st JLUR with misaligned welds, off-seam, porosity. I actually believe yours are worse though. I don't understand how the robotic...
  12. Track bar frame weld issue recall! [Updated with official UA5 recall notice w/ repair procedure]

On mine, re-welded back in August, before any of the recalls were sent out, FCA sent their own welder down from MI to re-weld my track bar, rear sway bar, and another spot or so on the frame. I had asked for other welds to be looked at and re-welded but, of course, the service advisor nor anyone...
  13. Track bar frame weld issue recall! [Updated with official UA5 recall notice w/ repair procedure]

And I guess the white line marked through that weld is a, "what the hell, let's just pass it" mark.
  14. Track bar frame weld issue recall! [Updated with official UA5 recall notice w/ repair procedure]

I just saw this posted on the JL Facebook group. If this is true and happened for many Jeeps after July, then what the living hell?
  15. Track bar frame weld issue recall! [Updated with official UA5 recall notice w/ repair procedure]

Bad frame welds would likely not be covered by a single car warranty. What usually happens is that 1, 2, 5 years go by and owners start flooding NHTSA with complaints of faulty or rusted welds. That gov organization then inspects further and finds many of the same vehicles have bad welds. Then...
  16. Track bar frame weld issue recall! [Updated with official UA5 recall notice w/ repair procedure]

No lift at all and no rubbing unless there is a good amount of flex. I will go with a 2 1/2 lift in the next 3 months but want to do side steps/sliders, and front/rear bumpers first.
  17. Track bar frame weld issue recall! [Updated with official UA5 recall notice w/ repair procedure]

I haven't updated in a few days. My replacement, barring a few welds on the frame that aren't the prettiest welds, worked out OK and I signed and picked it up yesterday. I even decided to upgrade the tires to 35s BFG KM3s today!! Unless things start breaking I'm going to just enjoy and drive...
  18. Rubicon 5 Almost New BFG T/A KO2 in Wake Forest, NC (Raleigh) - $650

Yeah, I actually like the upgraded Rubicon wheels. Considering their costs i don't think I'd get anywhere what I paid for them. So, just the tires for now. :)

  20. Track bar frame weld issue recall! [Updated with official UA5 recall notice w/ repair procedure]

I'm at the dealership now getting ready to test drive the replacement JLUR. The NHTSA engineer I'm working with has asked specifically about silica (slag) left in the welds in the replacement. My CWIs have also said that a few very small spots of slag is acceptable. But that excessive slag...
