i wouldn't put an aftermarket alarm in anything (for all the reasons already listed).

fortunately, my Willys came with a factory alarm.

however, lamely, it does not include the hood!
we'd need to incorporate some aftermarket device to be able to make the alarm include the hood.
Or install the locking hood latches that make it difficult to open.

sure, but why should we have to?
and are those going to make any noise to attract any attention when they get sawed off?

there are already switches on the hood that could have been integrated in the factory alarm (the way some of the aftermarket solutions do); J**p should have taken care of this properly from the start.

Or install the locking hood latches that make it difficult to open.

keep in mind that the cargo area in the rear is effectively blocked by a closed tailgate, so even if you have *no* roof on you still have an area that can be somewhat secure if you lock it and set the (factory) alarm.
of course, it all depends on where you are; some places you want to leave the windows rolled down just so the locals don't break them on their way in to see *if* it's locked,...

a Willys comes with the factory alarm (though they don't call it that).
doesn't your monster key fob have lock buttons on it? don't you see a flashing red light on your dash when you lock the doors?
take some time and RTFM.
To be honest I never looked. I will look tomorrow but you are probably correct. Ty

one other thing worth mentioning... The Tazer JL incorporates the hood pins into the security system so if the hood is opened while the system is armed, it alarms. That should have been factory done so thank you ZAUTOMOTIVE
came here to say this, or also Jscan can activate hood alarm. crazy it isnt on by default
