Did you remember to plug the two Gateway plugs back in? They are the two modular plugs that go into the small box mounted on the back of the Driver's side speaker pod.

Let me know if that isn't it, and we'll dig deeper.

You can enable it. If you had a DSP, then there's no need to enable it.

Haven’t even gotten that far. ’ve done is

1 pull out the head unit
2 disconnect the main harness.
3 Plug in the big pac harness to head unit
4 plug big pac harness to main Jeep harness that I pulled out of radio and
5 connected the pac.
6 connected the speaker wire harnesses on pac harness

Two questions... How did you set the PACs Dip switches? Also, the PAC should be coming on regardless. Where did you pull power from?

Think I found the issue. The 3a fuse on the harness was fried. Does the fuse power the pac or for the amp turn on lead?

Depends on which wire is involved. Radio powering on now? The PAC has to be on (when the harness is connected to the radio) for the radio to function.

You guys with the metra pods... are you installing the speaker grills or going naked behind the knee panels? Seems a bit tight. Should I be concerned about dust / debris if not using?
Thx

I did not put the speaker grills on mine. I didn’t try, but thinking back I don’t know that it would have fit if I had.

I'm using the speaker's stock base plate, but that's primarily because I'm running 5.25's and the pods cater to larger 6.5's+. There's not enough room for the speaker grilles, because using the base plate pushes the speaker out quite a bit. It really boils down to how well your speaker fit's in the pod. If it fits fine without the base plate, then go for it bare. If not, add the base plate.

Either way, seal any extra screw holes you're not using, as they can whistle/buzz if you don't.

No concerns with dust debris, as the stock "grille's" holes are very protective.

FWIW, I do recommend using foam rings between the speaker and stock grille. Prevents sound from escaping behind the dash.

Hadn’t heard about the foam ring idea. What thickness did you use?

I used these but purchased them locally. I cut them in half, because they're a bit too tall as is. They stick pretty well, just make sure they sit flush and aren't in the way of your speaker's travel.

Amazon has them on sale as of the time of this post: Fast Rings
